We’re Wedding Planner of the Year 2019!

Inspiration

Real Couples Wedding Regrets & Top Tips

The awards is split into North and South, celebrating the best wedding suppliers in both of these areas and recognising all the hard work they do.

We were absolutely thrilled to be nominated for ‘Best Wedding Planner’ at The English Wedding Awards this year, having also been nominated in previous years. We’ve always loved attending the event, as it’s a wonderful chance to network with other talented people in the industry. There are tons of people from all kinds of businesses, including wedding planners, coordinators, specialists, caterers, photographers, videographers, florists and stationary suppliers.

Hundreds of people attended the event at the Manchester Marriott Victoria and Albert Hotel in a wonderful ceremony that was enjoyed by all. It was presented by Tabitha Hunter-Smale and this year, the awards were fundraising for the Make a Wish Foundation.

We were super nervous before the ceremony, and convinced, as always, that we wouldn’t quite hitch the big prize. But to our surprise, we won!

Bouquet and Bells was announced ‘Best Wedding Planner’ in the North for 2019.

This is such a huge achievement and really makes us feel like all our hard work has paid off. It’s so nice to be recognised for what we do.

Bouquet and Bells has been organising wedding fayres across the North West and North Wales for over three years now. We started off with a couple of fayres and are now organising around 20 per year, from Shropshire to Merseyside, Cheshire to Flintshire. We’ve got some of our most exciting fayres coming up this year, including a wedding fayre at Chester Cathedral. We’re super thrilled to be doing as it’s their first EVER Wedding Fayre.

Meet the Supplier: Precious Pets Micro ID

Introducing our brand new ‘Meet the Supplier’ series. We’re so exited to be interviewing a selection of fantastic wedding specialists. We take pride in recommending the finest in the industry, and hope this series will help you find the perfect suppliers for your day.

We’re thrilled to introduce Precious Pets Micro ID.

Meet the Supplier: Precious Pets Micro ID

What services do you offer?

Exclusive Wedding Pet Chaperone Service

Couples would love to have their dog (fur baby) attend one of their most wonderful and exciting days of their life but struggle with logistics to ensure all of their friends and family members don’t miss out on any part of their wedding day.

This is why our Exclusive Wedding Pet Chaperone Service is so popular.  We plan, co-ordinate and take away all the stress for the happy couple so their dog can be a big part of their wedding day!

Whether they would like their fur baby to be their ring bearer, best man, bridesmaid or just attend for an hour for the wedding photographs, we are here to make all of their wedding dreams a reality.

We do not offer set packages as every wedding and their pet care needs are different.  We create a tailor made package to meet the couple’s requirements so that they have complete peace of mind on their special day.

Wedding Day Pet Sitting

A great alternative to our Chaperone Service …

Not every dog is suitable to attend the wedding due to venues restrictions, their temperament or well being.

We have also found that friends or family members struggle with pet care whilst attending the wedding.  Some guests have to travel a long distance and want to bring their dog along but again, struggle with pet care options, as they don’t want to miss out on any part of the wedding day.

What makes you different?

Dog arriving in style to the wedding!

We are popular with couples due to the quirky additions which make our Exclusive Wedding Pet Chaperone Service unique!

Couples love the concept of their dog arriving in style in their own wedding car/vehicle.  They can choose either a Mini Cooper or a Brand New Professional Converted Dog Van.

What is even more special is that the car/van is decorated with our specially patented designed wedding car ribbons and bows!

Dog Ring Bearer mechanism!

We have created a simple but proven mechanism whereby their dog delivers the rings down the aisle in a safe, secure and fun manner.

How did it all start?

Precious Pets Micro ID is a husband and wife team established Pet Care Service.

In 2018, we decided it was the right time for Adrian to change career direction and pursue his lifelong dream of working with dogs and to train as a self-employed Professional Dog Grooming Stylist.

After three months of commuting to Manchester, Adrian became a fully qualified Dog Grooming Stylist. To subsidise his grooming services and income we decided to set up a number of additional pet care services which included dog walking, puppy visits, cat care at home and mobile micro chipping.

2017/2018 was a very popular time for our friends and family getting married and who all owned dogs.  Kennels was definitely not an option for their dogs on their wedding day, so rather than a gift, they asked us to care for and chaperone their dogs at the wedding, which, of course, we did!

One evening, whilst putting our business strategy together, we decided to put together a Wedding Pet Chaperone Service and commence a large-scale market research campaign with pet owners and brides/grooms by attending wedding shows and venue showcases and the creation of social media polls.

The feedback we received was unbelievable and extremely positive. It became very apparent to us that there was a large gap in the market for our Exclusive Wedding Pet Service in the wedding industry, within our local areas and the UK.

It was also very clear that kennels were not an option for many couples (as we had discovered with our friends and family), as the dog was considered to be a precious and important member of their family.  They wanted them to be part of their wedding day but everyone who would normally care for their dog would be pre-occupied either getting ready for the big day or actually attending the wedding.

So we launched our Exclusive Wedding Pet Chaperone Service (Dogs at Weddings) and the rest is history.  We have been overwhelmed by all the bookings, couples’ testimonials and wedding venue collaborations.

Words of wisdom

If you are considering having your dog at your wedding, check out these Dog Friendly Wedding Top Tips

Important Considerations:

  • If you wish to include your fur baby, ensure that you book a dog friendly wedding venue or one with an outside area for photographs
  • Ensure that all guests will be aware that a dog is attending the wedding, in case of allergies. A lovely idea is to send out a ‘save the date’ card featuring a photo of your dog
  • You may wish your dog to simply be a guest of honour at your wedding but if you would like them to play a specific role in the ceremony, think carefully about how this will work. Popular choices are a dog ring bearer or a dog flower girl but ensure that your pet has the right temperament to cope with all the attention
  • Rehearse as much as you can with your dog before the big day and leave ample time to practice during the actual rehearsal
  • If you are considering a special dog wedding collar or accessory, make sure that it is safe and comfortable for your dog. Certain flowers or foliage can be poisonous to dogs so it is vital to check
  • Let your wedding photographer know that you are planning on bringing your dog to your wedding. This will ensure that they are ready to capture your adorable pet in action and come up with some great fun ideas for wedding photos
  • At busy times our wedding pet chaperoning service is very much in demand. To avoid disappointment we would advise getting in touch as soon as possible. We would love to chat to you about your exciting plans and how we can help you have a real furrytail wedding!

Lilac & Travel Themed Wedding / Charlotte & Anthony

Charlotte & Anthony’s Wedding at Mere Court Hotel, Cheshire / Saturday 3rd August 2019

Photography: Jess Yarwood Photography

The Proposal

It was their 11 year anniversary (and Charlotte’s birthday), and Anthony surprised Charlotte with a trip to Paris to celebrate. He didn’t tell her where they were going until they got to the airport. They had a lovely weekend in Paris and after a lovely meal, Anthony took Charlotte to the Jardins du Trocadero to watch the Eiffel Tower light up at midnight. He made them walk round and round to find the perfect spot to sit before settling on the original place found! Her feet hurt a lot at this point! They sat with a bottle of red wine watching the lights before Anthony got down on one knee and popped the question. Charlotte instantly said yes!

Theme / Colour Scheme

They have been together since they were 15 and have been friends since they were 3 so they wanted their history to play a big part in their day. They wanted their colour scheme to be lilac as this is the colour they wore at their year 11 Prom. This meant the bridesmaids wore lilac, the flowers were lilac and the order of service in the church had a lilac ribbon around it.

They love to travel so also wanted travel to be a big theme throughout the wedding. One of the bridesmaids designed the wedding invitations. These were travel themed showing their journey together from nursery to present day. Their table names were pictures of them in different places they have visited. The table plan was a map of the world with pins in located guests to their seats. Their card box was a vintage suitcase which they attached photos of places they have travelled to inside.

Special Touches & Unique Ideas

Anthony loves Jaegermeister and Charlotte loves Beyonce, so for their wedding favours they had a shot glass with the phrase ‘Drunk in Love’. Their names featured along with the wedding date with a mini glass of Jaegermeister in. The Jaeger was drunk during the toast of the Grooms speech. Charlotte’s bridesmaid also made the order of the day.

They had a kids table with games, cards, glow sticks and bubbles on to keep them entertained.

They love pictures and have pictures all over their house so decided to have photo bunting throughout the venue along with photo beer mats. Charlotte and Anthony made sure that on the photo bunting there was at least one picture of them with every guest attending the wedding so they could find themselves. They also included their first ever picture together – Anthony’s fourth birthday party with him dressed as a Power Ranger and Charlotte as Snow White. How cute!

They knew they would never read a guest book and because they love pictures, they asked the photographer to take a picture of everyone at the wedding together so they could put that into a large picture frame. Therefore, instead of a guest book, they had a large photo frame which all guests wrote special messages on. Next to this, they also had a photo collage which Charlotte made Anthony when they were 16 for everyone to look at and for old friends to reminisce with.

The Big Day

Charlotte stayed at the venue the night before the wedding and woke up early so went down to the reception room to check the air con was on and ensure the flowers were ok. She was very calm and did not feel nervous at all, only excited. They had been together for so long that there was nothing to be nervous about.

The bridal party all got ready in Charlotte’s room with the make up artist. They had a great view of the front of the venue from the bedroom window so enjoyed seeing everyone leave for the church and see what they were wearing. They all drank a lot of Prosecco as they were getting ready.

Once ready, Charlotte’s dad walked in and saw her in her dress which is now one of her favourite pictures from the day. They all shed a little tear and then it was time to go. When they arrived at the church, her childhood friends parents were outside of the church wanting to see them walk in and out.

Funny Moments

Charlotte hates being late so told the vicar she would be ten minutes early – definitely not late! She arrived at the venue ten minutes early but nana had got lost! It turns out they were so close to the venue and thought they had gone wrong so turned around and drove in the opposite direction. They didn’t arrive until twenty minutes after her. The photographer went inside to tell the vicar Charlotte was there but were waiting on the last of the family. The vicar then told Anthony – he was apparently nervous because he knows she is always early and didn’t understand why she wasn’t walking down the aisle!

During the ceremony, Anthony kissed Charlotte too early which the vicar had to tell them about and then make them do it again.

Top Tips

Have someone dedicated to brush your hair! Charlotte’s hair had to be down and straight because it does not hold curls and it wasn’t until her wedding breakfast when one of my friends told me she needed to brush her hair! She had already had the professional family photographs done though!

Charlotte and Anthony stuck together throughout the whole day. They said to each other, everyone is here for them therefore they wanted to speak to everyone and speak to them together. During the wedding breakfast, they made a point of going round to every table and speaking to everyone who was there. They also spoke to everyone at the evening do and danced with everyone who was dancing throughout the night.

Don’t stress! They were so chilled planning it all because they just wanted it to be a big party. So long as everyone had fun, that would be fine. Everyone had a great time and so did they.

They set aside 15 minutes after the wedding breakfast to go to their room, have a can of red bull to keep them awake for the evening do and just catch up with each other.

Top tip – After everyone has finished eating the evening food, put the typical cheesy tunes on to get everyone up dancing again such as the Macarena, Cha Cha Slide etc. They did this and no one sat down again after this.
